On 16 September 2026, five members of Concord & Sage were invited to participate in a forum on U.S. cross-border intellectual property litigation developments and practical issues at Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Xuhui campus.

The event was hosted by the Institute of Intellectual Property and Competition Law at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Zhen Li, Sunyong Tang, Zhiwei Hua, Ying Zhou and Mengyuan Zhao attended. Zhen Li, Sunyong Tang, Zhiwei Hua and Ying Zhou each spoke on issues concerning U.S. intellectual property protection and cross-border dispute resolution.

Zhen Li discussed practical considerations in U.S. federal-court intellectual property disputes, including temporary restraining orders and Schedule A cases. Zhiwei Hua addressed key stages of U.S. federal-court IP litigation, including interim relief, cross-border service, discovery, pretrial motions and declaratory judgment actions.

Sunyong Tang shared perspectives on U.S. IP litigation involving Chinese businesses, including selected procedural differences between China and the United States, discovery, jury trials and post-grant patent challenges. Ying Zhou examined patent squatting, platform complaints, overseas rights confirmation and enforcement options in the cross-border e-commerce context.

The forum provided an opportunity for discussion on practical cross-border IP issues. Concord & Sage will continue to support businesses navigating intellectual property matters in their international operations.
